Investing liquid funds – ACT briefing notes

March 2009

There is a heightened awareness of the risk in investing a company’s liquid funds, and for that reason the ACT has issued two briefing notes on this topic which encapsulate the longstanding education material of the ACT and the practical approach of professional treasurers.

This briefing sets investing in the context of the company’s overall business and its risks, and explains how to design an investment approach and strategy and the take proper account of the all important priorities of security, liquidity and yield.

These notes go into further detail as to how a company can create and run a process for monitoring and controlling the credit risk inherent in investing cash.
