The information we collect and how we use it When you purchase anything or subscribe to any publication via this site, register with this site or seek to enrol on a programme (including, but not limited to the Continuing Professional Development programme) or otherwise participate in a service offered by the ACT we will need to collect information about you to process the request/order and for internal administration purposes. This information may include, but is not limited to, details such as your name, your address and your credit card details. We may also ask for your telephone number and e-mail address, which enables us to contact you swiftly if there is a problem or change with your request/order. We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to third parties without your express consent. By submitting this information you consent to the processing of the personal data you have provided by the ACT and its subsidiary and affiliate companies in connection with the purpose for which you submitted the personal data to the ACT.
How do we protect your personal information? Every credit card purchase you make via the ACT's website is made through the WorldPay Ltd online payment system. WorldPay are fully secure and bank endorsed, and utilises a range of industry standard and WorldPay's unique security and fraud prevention systems, combined with fault tolerant secure server networks and firewalls. The WorldPay secure server encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us, so that the internet transaction stays private and protected. Furthermore, in compliance with the UK Data Protection Act 1998, (as amended from time to time) we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information which you have given us, to prevent unauthorised access.

1. General Terms and Conditions The information contained on this site is not intended to constitute any offer to sell or invitation to buy any product or service by the ACT or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates.
The ACT reserves the right to refuse any order placed by you. Receipt of an order by the ACT for an event, publication or service is not a guarantee that the ACT can fulfil your order. However, every reasonable endeavour will be used to meet your order.
If your order is accepted by us, you will be sent an invoice statement from us confirming acceptance of your order. The liability of the ACT, its officers and employees in respect of any loss, costs, expenses or other damages resulting from negligence or any breach or non-performance of any such contract or any misrepresentation or any other tort on the part of the ACT, its officers and employees shall be limited to the price paid or the price due and payable by you for any goods and/or services ordered via this site and in respect of which such liability arises.
You warrant that all details you provide to the ACT for the purpose of booking, ordering or purchasing goods or services are correct, that you are authorised to use the credit or debit card, as applicable, for the transaction and that there are sufficient funds to cover the cost of the goods and/or service.
The ACT seeks to comply at all times with its obligations under the EU directive on the protection of consumers in respect of distance contracts (the "Directive") and with its obligations under any applicable UK distance selling legislation which may be implemented from time to time ("Legislation"). Your rights under the Directive and under any Legislation are set out on the applicable order form for the ACT good or service. It is important that you read the information contained in each order form carefully. Subject to your rights under the Directive and/or any Legislation, cancellations for conferences received by the ACT at least ten (10) working days prior to the conference or event starting, will be eligible for a refund less £50 + VAT as an administration fee. If you are unable to attend, you may nominate a colleague to take your place. Except as outlined above, all purchases are non-exchangeable, non-refundable and non-transferable.
Our site technology will not prevent you from making more than one booking at an event. If you make any booking in error, the ACT is under no obligation to give you a refund except as outlined above.
2. Site content The copyright in this site belongs to the ACT. All other intellectual property rights (registered and unregistered) in all text, images, sound, software and other materials on this site are owned by the ACT or affiliated companies or are included with permission of the relevant owner. The site is for personal use only, and all material is provided for information purposes only.
