ICAEW Library and Information Service
The ICAEW Library and Information Service (LIS) is a leading business library with an unrivalled collection of accounting and auditing publications and significant taxation, law, finance and management resources. The library is a pleasant and well resourced study centre in the historic heart of the City of London.
Located within Chartered Accountants' Hall, the library's full range of services is available to ACT members, affiliates, faculty members and students. These include:

The Library is located in the Business Centre, Chartered Accountants' Hall at Moorgate Place. Use the entrance at Moorgate Place:

How to use the Library Information Service
To visit the library or use the enquiry service by phone or email, say you are an ACT user and quote your ACT member number. There is no need to register until the first time you borrow.

The Business Centre
Located on the ground floor, the new Business Centre offers ACT users a modern space in central London to meet, eat and work in. Business facilities include:

- Scanning, copying and faxing facilities

Use this online catalogue to access the Institute's information and library resources including over 40,000 books and 50,000 journal articles.
Book loans
Search the online catalogue LibCat and then contact the Library to request the book. Books can be sent to you and returned by post. Please have your ACT member or student number available when you contact the Library.

Information available includes company reports, benchmarking reports and company histories. If you can't find what you;re looking for contact the LIS enquiry team.
Reference and research resources
Books - there are more than 40,000 volumes in the collection, with details available in the ICAEW's on-line catalogue.
Journals - over 250 current titles are taken, including all significant English language journals on accounting and auditing. The ICAEW on-line catalogue contains over 50,000 abstracts of articles.
Accounting Standards - these include the majority of standards issued by the major British, overseas and international agencies.
Company Financial Information - an up-to-date collection of business and finance directories, including the FAME database (financial details of 1.65 million UK and Irish public and private companies plus address details for a further 1.15 million companies).
Law Reports - more than 150 law report series are covered, including tax and company law cases, supplemented by access to cases online via Lexis.
Taxation - all major UK tax manuals, including legislation, commentaries, cases and double tax agreements are available plus extensive tax information resources for other countries.
Historical Collection - an important collection of early works on accounting, including "Summa d'Arithmetica" by Luca Pacioli, published in 1494.
