ICAEW Library and Information Service The ICAEW Library and Information Service is a leading business library with unrivalled holdings of publications in accounting and auditing; and important collections in taxation, law, finance and management. The Library is a pleasant and well resourced study centre in the historic heart of the city.
Located within Chartered Accountants' Hall, ACT members and students (including those that are studying or have passed the certificate paper) have access to the full range of services offered. These include:
- a telephone, e-mail and fax enquiry service
- company information
- book loans
- the online collection of information and resources

How to use the LIS There is no need to register until the first time you borrow. This can be done when you visit, or over the phone. Just have your ACT member/student or ICM number to hand. To visit the Library or use the enquiry service by phone, email etc, say you are an ACT user and quote your ACT member/student or ICM number.
Library Resources Resources available include:
Books - more than 40,000 volumes in the collection. Use the ICAEW's on-line catalogue for details of books in their collection.
Journals - over 250 current titles are taken, including all significant English language journals on accounting and auditing. Use their on-line catalogue for abstracts of articles.
Accounting Standards - most standards issued by the major British, overseas and international agencies.
Company Financial Information - an up-to-date collection of business and finance directories, FAME DVD product (financial details of 500,000 public and private companies plus address details of a further 1.3 million companies).
Law Reports - more than 150 law report series, including tax and company law cases; access to cases online via Lexis.
Taxation - the major UK tax manuals, including legislation, commentaries, cases and double tax agreements; plus extensive tax information resources for other countries.
Historical Collection - an important collection of early works on accounting, including "Summa d'Arithmetica" by Luca Pacioli, published in 1494.
