As a mutual society the Co-operative Group requires unique treasury solutions. The Group’s borrowing structures means a key element of capital raising is through committed and uncommitted lines with banks. In 2004 the Group decided to seek a partner bank. To define the term relationship bank’ a balance scorecard approach was developed. As was intended the relationship has matured in different areas.
