Principal Manager, Treasury Accounting

The Treasury Accounting team is responsible for all financial reporting associated with the Bank’s Treasury business, from preparation of daily trader P&L’s through to monthly management accounts and the annual financial report, together with all accounting notes and disclosures. A suitable candidate is sought to assume day-to-day managerial responsibilities for this team, which comprises four qualified chartered accountants.
Skills and Experience
- Graduate chartered accountant in a fixed income/derivatives reporting capacity.
- Strong understanding of fixed income and derivative products and pricing thereof.
- Strong computer skills with emphasis on excel.
- Fluent English language skills.
- Managerial experience preferable but candidates with appropriate experience seeking first managerial role will be considered.
Core Responsibilities
- Acquire a thorough understanding of the different business activities undertaken by Treasury to ensure financial and management reporting is appropriate for both financial statement preparation and the requirements of senior management in Treasury.
- Manage the workflow within the Treasury Accounting team.
- Ensure that all daily, weekly and monthly reporting requirements are delivered within the requisite deadlines.
- Assess impact of all new IFRS reporting requirements and take responsibility for compliance therewith.
- Assist in the production of year-end financial statements with all required disclosures and notes relevant to the Bank’s Treasury activities.
- Ensure that the Bank’s internal controls framework, as applied to the Treasury Accounting team, is appropriate and rigorously observed.
- Proactive approach to maximise efficiency through automation of work practices.
