Welcome to the Treasury Forum
Welcome to the ACT’s treasury forum. The idea is that I can post really up-to-date news and commentary on the issues affecting the world of treasury, but written with a more personal or, perhaps, a more controversial slant. We all come across things that need fixing, news reporting that is misguided or outright wrong, or simply something interesting. Treasury departments tend not to be that large, our partners and friends may have limited stamina for treasury stories, so this can be the medium to put some points of view and seek a reaction.
I hope my updates will be of interest and feel free to comment, agree, disagree or add more details. If you prefer, drop me an email - I may sometimes quote responses on an anonymous basis.
For my part I became an ACT member back in 1984 and worked in various treasury roles at Redland, Hertz Europe and BTR before becoming Group Treasurer at National Grid Group plc for 13 years, and then joined the ACT staff in 2003. I am now the ACT’s Assistant Director – Policy and Technical, which means I try to follow what is brewing on any rules regulations, and standards and generally be aware of issues and developments in the markets so that we can do our bit in influencing how these turn out and in any case keeping members informed.
