Commodities come of age (TT Nov09 p22-23)

At first sight the extreme diversity between the world’s manydifferent commodities seems to exclude them from being treated as an asset class. But commodities share supply and demand fundamentals that predispose them to being traded as futures and options contracts on exchanges, and growth in exchange-traded commodities is expected to continue.
