AMCT gives me a professional advantage over my accountancy peers. There are so many qualified accountants it is difficult to stand out from the crowd – AMCT helps me to do so. Tushar Patel, AMCT, Assistant Group Treasurer, DP World, Dubai
Course overview
The ACT has developed a fast-track route for qualified accountants who wish to gain the AMCT Diploma in Treasury. This accelerated course of study significantly reduces the time needed to complete the qualification. It offers an excellent opportunity for qualified accountants to gain a practical qualification in treasury, risk and corporate finance which will complement their accountancy skills base.
The fast-track route is open exclusively to ACCA members and affiliates, CIMA members and students, ICAEW members and ICAS members.

How can I enrol?
If you qualify for the fast-track route your first AMCT Diploma paper will be CertITM – the stage two compulsory paper.
The enrolment deadline for CertITM is 30 September for April examination and 31 March for October examination.
Course structure and content

Stage one (qualified accountants exempt)
There are usually three stages to completing the AMCT Diploma, however, qualified accountants are exempt from stage one of AMCT and are awarded credits against the four foundation papers. In addition, they also qualify for the Corporate Finance & Funding Fast-Track paper at stage three, the benefits of which include reduced study content and a shorter final examination. This considerably reduces the number of papers you are required to sit to complete AMCT.
Stage two (compulsory)
Stage two is the Certificate in International Treasury Management (CertITM). CertITM provides a broad understanding of the core elements of treasury. It develops technical and practical skills in the principles and techniques underpinning treasury, risk and corporate finance and provides a platform from which you can go on to develop specialist knowledge. A public finance version of this course is also available.
- Certificate in International Treasury Management (CertITM)
- Certificate in International Treasury Management - Public Finance (CertITM-PF)
Typical study requirements are 150-200 hours for this paper.
The enrolment deadline for CertITM/CertITM-PF is 30 September for April examination and 31 March for October examination.
Stage three (select two electives)
At stage three you choose two further electives which provide in-depth coverage of key areas within treasury, risk and corporate finance. This gives you the opportunity to tailor the qualification to your specific needs and deepen your understanding in specialist areas relevant to your working environment.
Choose two papers from the following:
- Certificate in International Cash Management (CertICM)
- Certificate in Corporate Finance & Funding including Fast-Track (CertCFF & CertCFF Fast-Track)
- Certificate in Risk Management (CertRM)
- Certificate in Financial Mathematics & Modelling (CertFMM)
Typical study requirements are 100 hours for the Corporate Finance & Funding Fast-Track paper and 120 to 150 hours for the other papers.
Enrolment deadlines for stage three papers:
CertCFF*, CertRM*, CertFMM
15 June for October examination
15 December for April examination
* If you are studying for or have completed CertITM otherwise 30 September for April examination and 31 March for October examination.
CertICM
31 March for October examination
30 September for April examination
