ACT Annual Dinner 2019

The dinner took place on the 13 November in the Grosvenor House Hotel, and provided a fantastic opportunity to network with around 1,500 treasury and finance peers whilst enjoying a superb 3-course meal, fine wine and entertainment.

Guests enjoyed a star-studded evening with a guest speech from Sir Chris Hoy MBE and a special welcome greeting from HRH The Prince of Wales.

We also raised over £63,675 for our chosen charity, Hand in Hand International. A huge thank you to everyone who donated and entered the raffle on the night.

The after-dinner speaker - Sir Chris Hoy MBE

Chris Hoy is an eleven-time World Champion and winner of six Olympic gold medals - a tally that marks him as Britain’s greatest Olympian (jointly, alongside his former team-mate Jason Kenny). He retired from competition with an incredible six golds and a total of seven Olympic medals.

When speaking Chris looks at the gruelling physical and mental aspects of elite competition. He considers the work of acclaimed psychologist Steve Peters and Team GB’s culture and self-belief.

Chris is enjoying a second sporting career in motorsport, successfully racing in the GT and Le Mans Series, including the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race. He is a key part of the BBC’s sports reporting team covering cycling events, including the Olympics and the Tour de France. He also has his own range of bikes with Evans Cycles, is a Unicef ambassador, and won the BBC Sports Personality Lifetime Achievement Award.
