Job description

This vital role has responsibility for all aspects of Group liquidity management, cash investment strategy, and hedge accounting for the Group’s varied derivatives portfolio. This is a broad role which reports directly into the Head of Group Treasury. The role is supported by one treasury analyst and will involve working closely with two other managers in the treasury team. The responsibilities of the role cover the following:

  • effective management of Group liquidity, ensuing continual compliance with the Group’s liquidity policy, and producing clear liquidity analysis and reporting
  • implementation of Group cash management strategy, forecasting cash positions at entity level and liaising with banking partners to achieve the optimal allocation of cash, subject to counterparty limits and treasury policy parameters
  • accountability for all aspects of daily cash management including the operation of the Group’s cash pooling arrangements, ensuring sufficient liquidity within non-pooled accounts and overseas operations
  • developing Group liquidity solutions, exploring pooling/concentration options with banking partners and evaluating the optimal liquidity strategy
  • review and presentation to the CFO of the monthly cash flow forecast, collating inputs from internal teams, challenging assumptions, reviewing variance analysis, and driving continual improvement in cash flow forecasting systems and processes
  • managing all aspects of hedge accounting for derivatives within the Group, produce monthly hedge accounting reports and accounting entries using market data to generate Mark to Market valuations, and reconciling derivatives positions to the Group’s banking partners
  • Other areas of treasury management that the successful candidate would gain exposure to include international payments, bank guarantee and letters of credit, debt and revolving credit facilities management, FX/commodity/interest rate derivatives and risk management, and development of the treasury management system

The candidate

To be successful in this role you will be a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) and/or treasurer (AMCT) with previous experience in operating at treasury manager or senior analyst level within a complex corporate treasury environment. You will have a solid understanding of treasury liquidity management, treasury accounting practice, and financial markets. You will have excellent communication and treasury technical skills.
