Michael Page Treasury are working exclusively with a global FTSE engineering technology company on the recruitment of a newly created Treasury Accountant and Analyst position.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a fully qualified accountant to gain a broad based understanding and experience in a small Group Treasury function of an extensively multinational group.
This role will involve providing analytical support to the Group Treasurer as well as taking full responsibility for the accurate and timely reporting of all treasury accounting entries, including fulfilling the requirements for hedge accounting under IAS39/IFRS9 and Statutory disclosures. You will also be required to monitor daily and report weekly on the Group’s global net debt position, and to assist the Group Treasurer with respect to foreign exchange and money market transactions.

Detailed job description

The key responsibilities of the Treasury Accountant and Analyst role include:

  • Timely and accurate reporting of all treasury transactions to Group reporting, including treasury bank balances, intercompany loans, accruals, deposits, borrowings, interest, derivative financial instruments, foreign exchange
  • Identify process gaps and improve reporting processes
  • Provide a detailed analysis of net interest expense and P&L foreign exchange monthly
  • Prepare a monthly report pack, incorporating schedules relating to availability and utilisation of bank credit and ancillary facilities; analysis of cash and borrowings, interest rate hedges, currency transaction and translation exposure hedges, compliance with facility covenants
  • Manage the process of electronic balance reporting of the group’s bank accounts on a global basis, monitoring global cash cycles and producing daily position summary for the Group Treasurer
  • Contribute to the overall upgrade of treasury controls and procedures and to draft and maintain related documentation
  • Primary ‘ownership’ of treasury IT systems including treasury payments systems and TMS
  • Manage the Group’s cash on a day to day basis, in accordance with approved group policies, including the placing of deposits and the drawdown of facilities
  • Deliver/support a wide range of key treasury projects

Candidate's profile

To be considered for the Treasury Accountant and Analyst position you require:

  • Degree qualification
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a finance function, ideally within a head office corporate environment
  • Strong spreadsheet skills and use of finance software
  • Previous experience within a global company would be advantageous
