The role is the Group Treasury Business Partner in the Asia and Pacific regions responsible for:
Cash Management and Foreign Exchange
- Develop an annual below-the-line plan that meets the needs of Group Treasury and Tax for the repatriation of cash as well as supports the Asia and Pacific regions to bring together all of the elements of the role across the sources and uses of cash
- Monitor and follow up with regional businesses on cash flow forecasts used to manage liquidity
- Intercompany funding and cash repatriation from Asia and Pacific countries including dealing with foreign exchange transactions
- Manage pooling arrangements for the Asia and Pacific regions
- Quarterly cash management for the Group to ensure the business continuity plan is effective
- Lead on cash management RfPs and support the local teams during implementation
- Conduct studies of banks and their services to evaluate whether they fit the Group’s requirements and make proposals to country and regional FDs and work with the local teams on implementation as required
- Follow up with countries on implementation of banking strategy
Funding
- Liaise with banks in relation to local funding for working capital and other uses
- Review loan documentation in respect of local credit lines
- Follow up with local finance teams to ensure they comply with terms and conditions under local credit lines
Guarantees
- Provide advice to the businesses on the issuance of guarantees
- Issue guarantees for the regional businesses under Group credit lines
- Follow up with the regions on reporting and authorisation of guarantees
M&A
- Assist countries with due diligence as required
- Responsible for ensuring that acquisitions in Asia and Pacific are integrated from a treasury perspective
Systems, Procedures and Reporting
- Monitor compliance with relevant legislation and treasury policy and procedures in Asia and Pacific
- Assist with system implementation in relation to banking and treasury
- Set up a quarterly treasury committee for the Asia [and Pacific] regions
- Prepare presentations on banking developments to support the regions and present at the regional FLTs
- Preparation of reports to the Treasury Committee
- Other ad hoc tasks as required
Person Specification
We are looking for candidates who have the following experience, skills, competencies and qualifications:
- 18 months prior treasury-related experience
- ACT qualification or working towards one
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with good attention to detail
- Ability to communicate professionally and clearly with counterparties and colleagues at all levels and disciplines is critical
- Must be flexible, proactive and have the ability to work to tight deadlines
