Brewer Morris are currently hiring for an Assistant Treasurer position for a utilities business, with a focus on funding. The main responsibility of the role will be:
- Day to day responsibility for maintaining dialogue with relationship banks/advisors on developments across the various funding markets available to the group (currently: public bonds, private placements, bank loans);
- Day to day responsibility for maintaining dialogue with relationship banks/advisors on developments across financial risk areas (currently: inflation, interest rate and currency markets);
- Manage rating agency relationships and investor relationships
- Lead the approach for ensuring all compliance requirements within the group’s financing documentation are met, currently: monoline documentation; bond documentation; PP documentation; loan facility documentation; ISDA documentation; EIB documentation;
- Monitor and forecast all relevant financial ratios within finance documentation and credit rating agency metrics and ensure that senior management and the board/finance committee are kept regularly updated on developments in these key metrics;
- Actively engage in the business planning process by considering impact of planning and strategy on credit metrics and financeability
- Support the corporate finance and modelling teams by engaging with them to provide strategic model inputs and review credit metric/financiability outputs;
- Act as a leader within the treasury team and provide support/back-up to other key treasury workstreams that fall outside these areas;
- Support and develop direct report(s) to help maintain an inclusive and progressive work environment;
The successful applicant will have:
- Treasury experience of at least 5 years
- AMCT Treasury qualification
- Knowledge of debt capital markets and bank funding markets
- Understanding of typical investment grade funding documentation covenants and undertakings
- Experience negotiating financial documentation
- Understanding of credit rating agency methodologies and key metrics
- Experience of engaging with senior operational personnel to understand the core workings of a business
- Experience managing high profile projects and senior stakeholder expectations
