Essar Energy, BHP Billiton and Thomas Cook triumph in prestigious treasury awards

The Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT) today declared Essar Energy overall winner of the prestigious Deals of the Year Awards 2010.
- Essar Energy has won the Overall Deal of the Year Award for its landmark $1.96bn primary offering (IPO) in May 2010
- BHP Billiton won the Large Cap Treasury Team of the Year (market cap over £2bn)
- Thomas Cook was awarded the Mid Cap Treasury Team of the Year (market cap under £2bn)

The Deals of the Year Awards are organised by the ACT's The Treasurer magazine and are supported by Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets. They are the only treasury awards where the winners are judged by fellow practitioners. Winners were announced at an awards ceremony dinner held at One Whitehall Place, London today Thursday 10 February 2011 attended by treasurers and finance directors from leading UK and continental European companies.
