Foreign Exchange and Interest Rate Risk

Build the knowledge and practical skills to identify, assess and manage foreign exchange and interest rate risk.

About this MicroTopic

Treasurers play an important role in managing market risk, including interest rate and foreign exchange risk. This topic introduces the markets, terminology, and instruments used to manage these exposures.

You will explore forward foreign exchange contracts, swaps, options, and cross-currency interest rate swaps. Through practical examples and numerical techniques, you will develop the confidence to understand how these markets work and make informed decisions.

This is part of the Certificate in Treasury (CertT) pathway. Complete all eight MicroTopics in this set to achieve the CertT qualification.

Perfect If You:

  • already have a background in business or finance through study or work experience

  • want to specialise in a topic that is relevant to your role

  • want to refresh a specific area of treasury

  • need flexibility in how and when you learn

  • are planning your professional development or discussing upskilling during a performance review

  • manage a team outside treasury and want to develop a team member’s understanding of a treasury role.

Before you begin enrolment, have these ready:
