Working Capital and Cash

Build the practical knowledge to manage working capital, cash and short-term funding needs effectively.

About this MicroTopic

Managing working capital is a core treasury responsibility. It helps an organisation maintain liquidity, support day-to-day operations and remain resilient.

This topic covers the fundamentals of working capital, including inventory, receivables and payables, alongside cash management and investing surplus cash. You will consider the decisions involved in balancing short-term cash needs with longer-term customer and supplier relationships.

This is part of the Certificate in Treasury (CertT) pathway. Complete all eight MicroTopics in this set to achieve the CertT qualification.

Perfect If You:

  • already have a background in business or finance through study or work experience

  • want to specialise in a topic that is relevant to your role

  • want to refresh a specific area of treasury

  • need flexibility in how and when you learn

  • are planning your professional development or discussing upskilling during a performance review

  • manage a team outside treasury and want to develop a team member’s understanding of a treasury role.

Before you begin enrolment, have these ready:

ACT qualification completion certificate, where relevant

Employer VAT number for employer-sponsored entry
