Our Career Stories webinars showcase the diverse and dynamic membership base we have at the ACT.

We have members working in a wide variety of sectors, industries and locations and this series will provide some insight into some of the different careers available to those working with and in treasury. The purpose is to ask some of our members about their career journeys, the projects they have enjoyed working on, how they balance business and behavioural skills with their technical skills, how treasury is evolving and to see if they have any tips on how to manage a treasury career.

We were delighted to have Roshun Tulkens as our first speaker. 

Career Story: Roshun Tulkens, Director of Treasury, Averda

Roshun Tulkens is the Director of Treasury for Averda, a leading waste management and recycling company headquartered in Dubai. He has over 15 years of treasury experience across various industries including FMCG, retail, manufacturing, utilities and machinery/infrastructure. Roshun has worked for multi-billion-dollar companies such as Reckitt, Caterpillar/Mantrac, Burberry and Rexam, with particular focus on emerging markets across Africa, Middle East and APAC. His main responsibilities include debt raising and financing, liquidity/cash management, treasury transformations and restructuring. Originally from the UK, Roshun has lived in the UAE since 2014.

Career Story: Steph Morris, Group Treasurer, Liquid Intelligent Technologies

Steph Morris started her career in banking working in FX and rate sales before moving into a treasury. Her first treasury role was as a senior analyst for Tesco and she has worked in a variety of roles including for Transport for London. Her first Group Treasurer role was at Seadrill, where she worked on a Chapter 11 restructuring. She then moved to another Group Treasurer role at ACTEON to set up a new treasury function in the company. She has recently moved to her current role as Group Treasurer of Liquid Intelligent Technologies.
