Annual CPD Record Review - CPD is an investment in yourself

Each year, we carry out our annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record review for eligible members. As part of this process, a random sample of members is selected and invited to submit their CPD record for review.

The purpose is not simply to check that CPD activities have been completed. It is an opportunity to demonstrate how you are continuing to develop your knowledge, skills and professional competence, and how your learning is helping you stay effective in a profession that is constantly evolving.
Professional membership is built on more than qualifications alone. It is underpinned by a commitment to ongoing learning, ethical practice and maintaining professional standards throughout your career. Our CPD review helps ensure those standards remain meaningful and trusted.

Why is this review important?

The letters AMCT and FCT represent years of hard work, achievement and professional dedication. They signal to employers, clients, regulators and colleagues that the holder has met rigorous standards and remains committed to maintaining them.

That reputation can only be sustained if there is confidence that members continue to develop their expertise long after gaining their qualification. As treasury, finance and risk management continue to evolve, maintaining professional competence is more important than ever.

CPD record reviews provide assurance that members are actively investing in their professional development, keeping their knowledge current and continuing to meet the standards expected of the profession. They demonstrate that membership is not a one-time achievement, but an ongoing commitment to excellence.

By carrying out regular reviews, we help protect the credibility and value of ACT professional qualifications and designatory letters. This benefits not only the profession as a whole, but every individual member. When employers and stakeholders have confidence in the standards behind AMCT and FCT membership, the value of those designations is strengthened for everyone who holds them.

In short, CPD reviews help safeguard the reputation of the profession, reinforce public trust, and ensure that ACT membership continues to be recognised as a mark of competence, credibility and professionalism.

Why is the review important for you?

If you are selected, the review is an opportunity to showcase your commitment to professional development and lifelong learning.

Maintaining a CPD record is about much more than compliance. It provides a valuable opportunity to reflect on what you have learned, recognise the progress you have made, and identify areas where further development could support your future career ambitions.

The process encourages you to consider how your learning has influenced your work, broadened your knowledge, strengthened your skills and helped you respond to new challenges. It can also help you identify future learning opportunities and ensure your professional development remains aligned with your personal and career goals.

Participating in the review allows you to demonstrate to employers, colleagues and clients that you take your professional responsibilities seriously and remain committed to maintaining the highest standards throughout your career.

Ultimately, CPD is an investment in yourself. It helps you remain relevant in a changing business environment, build confidence in your expertise, and continue to grow as a trusted treasury professional. By taking part in the review process, you are also helping to protect the value and reputation of the professional designation you have earned.
