Directors who work for Citi are the best-paid bankers in London, new research suggests.
According to real-time bonus and salary benchmarking site Emolument.com, directors at Citi averaged £370,000 in annual total compensation in 2013.
Deutsche was the second-highest payer this year, rewarding its front-office investment bankers with average pay and bonus packages of £335,000 while Credit Suisse paid £325,000.
At the bottom end of the scale, Lloyds paid an average of £158,000 to its directors, lagging behind the next lowest payer – Santander, which awarded £207,000.
Emolument.com is dedicated to finance and other professional services industries. It sources salary and bonus data directly from individual professionals who contribute anonymously.
