Don’t fear the repo

Using repos as a cash investment vehicle can seem complex and cumbersome to those not familiar with them. Even an accomplished treasurer with some exposure to these instruments may be wary of the perceived barriers of entry to the market.

Proponents of repos say they offer flexibility in cash investment, allowing you to select your optimum balance of risk vs yield – but how do you know when they are appropriate for your business? What are the real pros and cons?

This webinar offers essential insight for treasurers of any background and experience level considering repos as part of a cash investment strategy.

The first part covers the hows and whys of entering the repo market – demystifying the process for beginners.

The second part we look in more depth at the situations in which you might use repos: when might it be appropriate to move from unsecured to secured vehicles? And how can you select your ideal counterparties, risk levels and yield to suit your treasury strategy?
