Q: What will the ACT Deals of the Year look like this year? 
A: The ACT Deals of the Year is back in an exciting award-winning virtual format on Thursday 8 July 2021 - so you can network with your fellow treasurers once again but from the comfort of your own home. Enjoy a complimentary hamper (UK only) as you relax and enjoy an evening of celebration. The event will be hosted on Engagez – an online event platform with great functionality and the networking tables on Zoom.

Q: What web browser should I use? 
A: Chrome, Edge or Firefox. The events platform does not support Internet Explorer.

Q: What happens if I can’t access the platform, are there any easy suggested trouble shoots?
A: Please make sure you are accessing the platform outside your work remote desktop or work VPN.

Q: Can I access the platform on my smartphone?
A: Yes but it is recommended that you use desktop, laptop or tablet for a better experience.

Q: Will I stay logged in/ on if I close my browser (on my phone or desktop)
A: No for security, you can only access the ACT Deals of the Year platform on one device at a time.

Q: What will happen when I enter the platform for the first time? 
A: You will arrive at the Welcome Lobby where you can view all of the evening's guests and a short video on how to navigate the platform. Click on Gala Room at the top to view a programme of the event's proceedings, as well as all the meeting points where you can join your virtual table on Zoom. To find your meeting point, click on Meeting Point Finder.

Q: Will I be able to contact anyone if I am having issues with the platform? 
A: Yes, there will be tech support available on the platform additionally you can email:  deals@treasurers.org

Q: Will I be able to network with other guests like at a live in-person ACT Awards? 
A:  Yes, this can be done in the Welcome Lobby where you can message, video call or arrange meetings with other guests. The platform will remain open until 22:00 BST, in case there are old friends you meant to catch up with and missed.

Q: How do I sit at my virtual table?
A:  The event is hosted on our virtual platform and the networking tables are hosted on Zoom. 

Log in details will be sent out to guests directly from ACT Events events@treasurers.org on Wednesday 7 July. All guests must access the virtual platform in order to network ahead of the call to tables, and in order then to be redirected to the correct Zoom call (table). There is no need for guests to set up a Zoom account but for a more seamless experience on the night, we would urge all attendees to sign up via https://zoom.us/signup. You can then amend your profile in advance to include a profile picture, ensure your full name is displayed to aid networking and our team’s easy identification of you to move you around the table during the evening, and prepare a bespoke virtual background from the selection provided in the host pack. 

To find your table and fellow guests:

  • Click on the ‘Meeting Point Finder’ in the Gala Room. The alphabetical index by surname will identify your lettered meeting point.
  • Go to your allocated meeting point in the Gala Room
  • If you are unable to find your name on the index listing, please alert tech support which is located on the bottom right-hand corner of the platform screen or alternatively email deals@treasurers.org

Q: How do I arrange meetings on the platform?  
A:  In the Welcome Lobby you can click on another guest’s profile where there is an option to arrange a meeting. You can also click on the tab at the top of your screen labeled ‘Who’s online’ and again click on their profile which enables you to also arrange a meeting, chat or video call.

Q: Will I have access to the guest list?
A: All guests will be able to see who is registered to attend the Awards through the attendee list in the Gala Room.
