The ACT's 40th Anniversary Peal of Bells | The Association of Corporate Treasurers

The ACT's 40th Anniversary Peal of Bells

St. James Garlickhythe, London, UK
10:45 - 11.45

A very special peal of bells.

ACT’s Chief Executive, Caroline Stockmann, is an expert change ringer, and she and her fellow band members rung a unique quarter peal devised for our 40th anniversary by Tom Lawrance, a St Paul’s ringer.

This informal gathering took place at St James Garlickhythe. One of the most celebrated things at St James Garlickhythe is the Royal Jubilee bells. The set of eight bells that were cast for the church were seen on television around the world leading the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant in 2012. The largest of the eight bells is half a ton in weight and all were cast at the Whitechapel Bell Foundry. Each bears the Royal Arms and is named after a senior member of the Royal Family, with the largest called Elizabeth and the others called Philip, Charles, Anne, Andrew, Edward, William and Henry.

Rung as Ruby Bob Major in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
