In this second interim report monitoring the implementation of the Lamfalussy process, which is addressed to the European Parliament, the Council and the European Commission, the Inter-institutional Monitoring Group has observed with satisfaction the overall progress of the Lamfalussy process.
The report nevertheless identifies some aspects of the process that need to be improved and/or adapted in order to make the Lamfalussy approach work to its full potential. The Group welcomes public comments on its second interim report, which will be taken into account for the determination of the Group's final recommendations and conclusions scheduled to be presented in the form of a final report in Autumn 2007.
