ACT is delighted to become affiliate member of IFAC, the global organization for the accountancy profession. ACT Chief Executive, Colin Tyler said:
We're delighted to be working with IFAC to help strengthen the professions worldwide. We strongly believe in the importance of like minded bodies working together to promote the value of professional qualifications to employers and their relevance in maintaining standards and driving business performance.
A formalized relationship with IFAC will help promote mutual knowledge sharing and understanding between the treasury and accounting professions – particularly in relation to professional accountants in business – and in promoting high standards globally, consistent with IFAC’s aims of building strong and sustainable organisations, financial markets, and economies. ACT Development Director, James Lockyer who has represented the ACT as an observer on IFAC's PAIB (Professional Accountants in Business) Committee said:
The ACT has a longstanding and collaborative relationship with a number of individual accountancy bodies – some 50% of the ACT's members are qualified accountants. Many promote the ACT qualifications as CPD for their members, recognising corporate treasury as a specialized and advanced form of finance, complementing their own space. blockquote> IFAC Chief Executive Officer Fayez Choudhury said:IFAC has many synergies with the Institute of Management Accountants and Association of Corporate Treasurers, particularly in light of our focus on the important role played by professional accountants in business in the global economy.Read the full IFAC release here
