Get to know our Commercial Director: Denis is responsible for developing strategic commercial relationships and tailoring advertising and sponsorship solutions to the needs of individual customers.

1. How long have you been working in sponsorship?

Over 20 years in different roles - man and boy.

2. How important is it to maintain healthy customer relationships?

Fundamental - the only way to build strong and deep relationships is to shape conversations around the customer and review the experience.

3. What do you enjoy most about your job role?

I’ve had the pleasure of working with some wonderful strategic sponsors over the years who’ve added value to the member experience. We in turn are progressive, open to new ideas and prepared to work hard to see them through.

4. Why did you join the ACT?

My parole officer recommended it!

5. If you were on an island and could only bring three things, what would you bring?

Helicopter, helipad and Prince William.

6. How do you think sponsorship heightens public visibility for the ACT?

Over 35 years the ACT has built a remarkably strong reputation for our core treasury coverage. Through our sponsored events in particular we’ve been successful in communicating the personality and integrity of the ACT.

7. List 5 adjectives that describe yourself.

Short, dark, northern, male, bespectacled.

8. Which is your favourite annual ACT event?

The ACT Annual Conference – for its size, profile and logistical challenges – there are a lot of moving parts.

9. What song best describes your work ethic?

Kung Foo Fighting.

10. If you could be any sandwich, which one would you be?

The Earl of...?
