Trustee vacancy: The ACT Educational Trust | The Association of Corporate Treasurers

Trustee vacancy: The ACT Educational Trust

Voluntary role | Meetings twice a year via Microsoft Teams

The ACT Educational Trust, a registered charity (Charity registration number: 288859), is looking to appoint a Trustee to fill a vacancy.

The Trust provides support through opportunities for education that would otherwise not go ahead without its assistance. The Trust’s core focus is a bursary scheme, which was established in November 2005. To date we have provided over 100 bursaries for our qualifications, ranging from the Certificate in Treasury Fundamentals through to the Diploma in Treasury. The bursary is open to students who are nationals and residents of a developing country as outlined by the World Bank and who are not sponsored by their employer. You can find out more about the bursary scheme at https://learning.treasurers.org/bursary-scheme.

The ideal candidate for this voluntary role will:

•    have an interest in progressing treasury expertise within developing countries
•    have experience of small and/or educational charities
•    be connected with student learning or the student community.

We would particularly like to encourage those who have recently completed their ACT qualifications to apply, or those who are nationals of the countries listed in the bursary scheme information.

Trustees are ultimately responsible for directing the affairs of the charity, ensuring it is solvent, well run and meeting the needs for which it has been set up. Trustees are expected to attend meetings twice a year via Microsoft Teams, in March and September.

To apply for this voluntary post, please email a brief CV, along with a covering letter outlining why you are interested in the role to: ltatham@treasurers.org by 17.00 on Friday 3 March 2023.
