The ACT’s seventh annual Cash Management Conference, "Where Cash Flows, Business Follows”, sponsored by Barclays Corporate, proved itself once again to be a hugely successful event in the corporate treasury calendar.
The event, held in London on 15 and 16 February attracted 155 delegates. They heard from more than 20 speakers, offering 15 corporate treasury presentations, with topics ranging from case studies of global cash pooling and counterparty risk management to developing technology solutions for payments and e-billing.
It is clear that board members and treasurers will not quickly forget the lessons learned over the last few years. The interest that has been shown in cash and liquidity management is not going to fade, and treasurers are now working in an environment where they have to explain what they are doing – and what they are planning to do – to a wide group of stakeholders. Treasurers will need to work harder and smarter in all areas of cash management and assess how the business can shape its own future in the way it deals with cash. As always, cost and value will be critical.
Through its events, training courses, publications and especially its qualifications – particularly the Certificate in International Cash Management – the ACT provides a thorough understanding of international cash management and the techniques for managing cash and liquidity effectively. The opportunity to hear and interact with leading practitioners is an added value experience that hugely benefits presenters, delegates and their organisations. The ACT would like to thank our sponsor, Barclays Corporate, and the conference exhibitors for their support of the conference and this report.
Barclays Corporate is delighted to have sponsored the conference and this accompanying report. Barclays Corporate is committed not only to providing innovative and effective cash management solutions to corporates but also to ensuring that the issues and challenges facing corporates and service providers are fully debated for the benefit of all participants in the cash management industry.
