I am EMEA Treasury Director at CBRE and have been in post for 16 months. Current projects include roll-out of a payment factory solution and regional cash management automation.
Actually I rather like what I am doing right now. Today’s technology supports global treasury infrastructure and I really like projects with lots of elements and multiple stakeholders.
We’ll need longer than that to get the paperwork done.
It’s about cashflow.
It’s the planning, not the plan.
Being a member of a recognised professional body is a combination of: passing specific qualifications, staying up to date and having relevant practical experience. The most important aspect of the MDF is to create a link between members and the ACT with the Forum focused on monitoring CPD, absolute member numbers and shaping membership strategy.
Well it’s early days yet but recently we have had discussions about approach to CPD non-compliance, we’ve agreed membership fees and had an initial discussion about the MCT qualification and encouraging higher take-up.
Drop in technical webinars are an efficient way of getting 45 minutes of focused thought (over a sandwich at the desk!) and I also like the Talking Treasury updates to get out of the office for a few hours. The online student resources are brilliant to quickly refresh a topic. But my favourite member benefit is The Treasurer.
I think we should keep looking carefully at what other enterprises are offering in terms of training, resources or forums so that the ACT continues to stay recognised for excellence in everything we do.
Alas, it’s the iPhone(s).

I’m afraid I don’t have one. But you don’t ever forget a good teacher – I get Aswath Damodaran’s blog to my inbox and often look at the data on his website and other published material.
