How can we manage our reactions to situations? A particularly relevant question in today's time of crisis, with many of us working under pressure and at a physical distance from our teams and peers. Reflecting back on the motivational states model in the last podcast: what drives us into those various motivational state boxes? Is it as simple as an event occurs, causing a reaction and emotion in ourselves – leading to a state of ‘survival’ or ‘impossibility’, for example? Research tells us that it’s not the event that causes our reaction, but our mind. So, how do we start training ourselves in this potential conflict zone between ourselves and our minds?
