The Association Excellence Awards celebrate and encourage the vital work that associations and industry bodies do for and on behalf of their members to ensure their voices are heard and their causes are championed.
This year’s ceremony took place on 7 October 2021 at the Kia Oval, London, where we at the Association of Corporate Treasurers were delighted to receive awards in all three of the categories that we had entered.

I am so thrilled that we won the award for Best Association Virtual Event (under 700 delegates) for the ACT NOT the Annual Dinner, which took place on 11 November 2020.
Live catering with hampers, innovative Zoom breakout sessions, and great entertainment are just some of the winning highlights mentioned in the judges’ comments. It truly was a fantastic evening, and it was so wonderful to see over 300 guests in their finest attire enjoying light-hearted conversation over their very own hamper of wine and cheese, which added to the great atmosphere. My personal highlights included my chat with our speaker Louis Theroux, inspirational insights from Archbishop Justin Welby and the amazing mentalist tricks from David Meade.
The ACT also won Silver for the Best Association Virtual Event (over 700 delegates) for the ACT Annual Conference held on 5-8 October 2020.
With essential timely content, a fresh new format, and accessible from anywhere in the world, we were excited to present the annual conference online for the first time. Over 1,700 delegates from 46 countries joined us to explore ‘Balancing risk: championing sustainable growth’. We focussed on the key part risk plays in any treasurer's day-to-day role, as well as the dual meaning of sustainable growth, in terms of sustainability both from an environmental perspective as well as that in terms of general financial growth – topics that have never been so relevant.
What a brilliant way to end the ceremony, with the award for Best Association Team. This third win in the final category of the whole event was SO wonderful! That my team won the best Association team, in what we hope will remain the toughest year ever, was amazing and more than well-deserved.
A fantastic day in all, meeting colleagues and friends, and celebrating in person. Well done, team - so proud of you!
