Are you a treasury professional with an interesting story, experience or case study to share? Don’t keep it to yourself! In 2017 we have a multitude of events in the calendar and we’re actively looking for new speakers. If you’re a veteran or completely new to speaking, check out why getting involved at an ACT event is business critical this year:
1. Speaking is prestigious and gets you noticed
From raising your profile to showing off the success of your company, speaking at an ACT event gets you noticed. As the only Chartered body for treasury, we’re the definitive voice of treasury in the UK, Middle East and Asia. From our annual conference in the UK to regular, regional events across the globe, there are a multitude of opportunities for you to speak and present to large audiences of corporate treasurers.
2. We’re here to support you
We get it, putting together a presentation from scratch can sometimes be tough. What should I talk about? What does the audience want to know? The good news is we can help! After spending many weeks of research and talking with your peers and policy experts on what the event should cover, we can say with confidence what the audience wants to discuss which helps craft your presentation. Our dedicated events team is here to answer any questions you might have about the event.
3. Do I have to do a formal presentation?
No! If putting a formal presentation isn’t right for you, you can get involved in panel discussions, workshops or roundtables. Some sessions don’t require a presentation at all and it’s about being as informal and interactive as possible. If the session isn’t a good fit, let’s discuss your ideas and work on something together.
4. You might learn something…
Sometimes we don’t have all the answers back at the office, which is why we need to get out to find them. As a speaker, you’re our guest and will have a complimentary place at the event. But the real bonus is that all ACT events focus on today’s and tomorrow’s hot treasury topics, so take the opportunity to get ahead of the curve and hear industry best practice hot off the press.
5. Unrivalled networking
We’ve already talked about getting noticed and complimentary entry to the event, but a major reason to get involved is the networking. Despite the rise of social networks and that ever-increasing email count, people still do business with people and that is best face-to-face. Catch that contact from another multi-national, swap business cards and get ahead at an ACT event.
But, why stop at 5 reasons? Here's what our attendees had to say:
A fantastic opportunity to meet colleagues and external stakeholders whilst attending relevant and engaging sessions on a wide range of interesting topics.
Paul Cruddis, UK Power Networks at ACT Annual Conference 2016
Very insightful and a great opportunity to network with like-minded professionals.
Arran Dulay, National Express at Smart Cash Conference 2017
Great opportunity for corporate treasurers to know the new developments and meet other treasurers at one place.
Maheswara Rao, Emirates Airlines at Middle East Annual Conference 2016
