Over recent weeks I have been talking a lot about how important membership of the ACT is and why we regard our members as the heart of the organisation. Some of you will have heard me discussing this if you attended our Annual Conference in Newport last month, or our London Members event last week, or if you happen to have attended committee or board meetings with the ACT as one of our volunteers recently.
One consequence of believing members are so important is that we need to find effective ways of hearing their opinions, and once every three years we run a comprehensive survey of our membership to hear those opinions and get answers to questions which will help shape what we offer members over the coming years. The upcoming member survey this summer is the first time since I joined the ACT that I have the opportunity to get this very direct input from our members to influence and direct where we take the organisation next and keep us relevant for your needs.
This year we are partnering with a research company called Research by Design (RbD) who are experts in research for membership organisations. We will be launching the 2025 ACT member survey on Monday 30 June and it will run for five weeks, closing on Monday 4 August. If you are a current ACT member or student you will receive an email from email@boxsurveys.net with your unique survey link. The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete, and will be run in accordance with the Market Research Society’s (MRS) Code of Conduct, which ensures that research participants’ anonymity is protected, and that information provided is kept strictly confidential.
To say thank you for completing the survey, all participants will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 Amazon voucher. The winner will be notified by 4 September (and rest assured that Research by Design will be administering the prize draw so any individual answers and comments you have made will remain confidential – so do tell us what you really think).
I hope as many of you as possible who receive the survey link will find 10 minutes to answer our questions and ensure your opinion helps to direct how we evolve your association. I’m personally looking forward to seeing the results and reading all the comments in the autumn.
If you have any questions about the member survey, either now or once you have the link and start the survey, please visit our member survey page or contact my colleagues in our membership team at membership@treasurers.org. And thank you in anticipation for participating in the survey and giving us your opinion.
