Payments Services Directive

HMT is conducting a consultation on the European Commission's proposal for a Payment Services Directive, which was adopted by the European Commission on 1 December 2005. The European Commission believes that the development of a well functioning internal market in payment services is important to the growth and competitiveness of the European economy.

Housing Corporation Treasury Management

The Housing Corporation introduced its treasury management policy for housing associations in 1999. We are now consulting on a replacement of that policy. The review recognises the changes which have taken place since 1999, both in terms of the Corporation’s regulatory approach, and also the increasing financial sophistication of many associations.

IAS 32 Financial Instruments: Puttable at Fair Value - IASB ED of Amendments

This Exposure Draft contains proposals by the International Accounting Standards Board to amend IAS 32 Financial Instruments: Presentation to classify as equity financial instruments puttable at the fair value of a pro rata share of the net assets of the entity (financial instruments puttable at fair value) and instruments with obligations for a pro rata share of the net assets of the entity on its liquidation (obligations arising on liquidation), provided specified criteria are met.
