Networking is a necessity. The opportunity to benchmark and broaden your industry knowledge is something you can take back to the business the day after attending an ACT event. This year’s Annual Conference on 16-17 May will provide you with the opportunity to share expertise and the lessons learned with a truly global audience.

So what do we have in store this year? I managed to catch up with Lenise Christian, Senior Global Event Coordinator at the ACT who is responsible for running a networking event you can’t afford to miss:
What’s the theme for the 2017 Social Highlight?
The theme this year is ‘Around the world with the ACT’, we’re an international organisation and wanted to celebrate this at the Social Highlight. We’re proud to have members and students in 87 countries and, based on the current list of delegates, 17 countries will be represented at the conference in May which ought to be celebrated!
How will this be featured at the Social Highlight?
In a nutshell? Food, drink and entertainment – what’s not to love? As much as we’d love to celebrate all the regions we operate in, we have chosen to concentrate on the destinations in which we hold some of our largest events. The Social Highlight format is different to previous years – most notably the main change is that we’re staying on-site and bringing the networking evening element into the exhibition hall… look out for an area to be revealed at the back of the hall!
So, let’s talk about the good stuff…can you tell us about the food and drink?
Expect to sample delicious food from Germany and the UK, cocktails from Hong Kong and desserts from the Middle East. The team had the arduous task of food tasting so trust us when we say you’re in for a treat!
What are you most looking forward about this year’s Social Highlight?
Food, drinks and entertainment! From Chinese Lion dancers to an Oasis tribute band and a much-anticipated performance from Chris Turner, award winning comedian and improvised rapper. It’ll be a packed three hours with plenty of eating, drinking, networking and potentially showing off your retro gaming skills.
Sounds exciting! What do attendees need to know to attend?
The Social Highlight starts as soon as the last conference session finishes at 5pm, so make your way straight to the exhibition hall – grab a beverage and enjoy yourself as the evening unfolds! The evening will come to a close at 8pm, giving you time to have a nightcap or two with new friends and colleagues in one of the (many) hotels or bars nearby!

The buzz of the conference will continue through to the evening – join us from 5pm to sample an exciting array of street food and drinks from across the globe. Not only a great networking opportunity, but we promise unmissable entertainment throughout the evening.
