ACT learning workshops and their intrinsic face-to-face approach provide you with everything you need to succeed in your assessments.
In this series of blogs I’m exploring exactly how learning with others, in the form of tutors and fellow students, offers you benefits that extend beyond passing your qualification.
Last week I looked at the importance of interaction and staying motivated when studying, but face-to-face learning also offers a flexible approach to accommodate different people’s needs.
When studying online, the ACT try to guide you through a learning journey to keep you motivated and on track. However, the nature of the study materials means that everybody has to follow the same learning journey even though we might learn in different ways.
In a classroom environment, a tutor is able to react to the varying needs of those students in the workshop. For example they can slow down to cover a point people are struggling with or speed up and cover new ground if the class is moving at a faster pace. There’s also the matter of individual attention which tutors can give which can never be recreated online.
The irony is that, even though we all have our individual learning styles and preferences, individual learning is not necessarily the best course of action.
In the next blog, I’ll be considering the importance of learning in a safe environment. In the meantime, the ACT welcomes your comments and points of discussion on any of our blogs.
